A terrific turnout of JSCARC members at the Texas City Tidelands Hamfest on Saturday July 12, 2025.
Many thanks to Ken K5RG who acquired 2 seller tables for club members to use. And a special gratitude to Carl WD5JRD who donated personal ham items to the club which we sold at the tables.
In attendance:
K5RG, KA5TBB, KG5PGY, AD5CQ, KG5URA, N5FWB, KG5HOK (and Sophie), WD9GET, K5KUA, AB5SS, W5OC, WD5JRD, and prospective new members who took license exams down the hall.
The Tidelands Amateur Radio club did an admirable job with the complete sellout of all the tables and successfully supported the license exam, activities, and lectures while also conducting raffles and co-hosting the Houston Vintage Radio Association auction.
Observations: I was pleased to still see lots of hams buying parts and projects to kindle the hands-on DIY mentality. Like all hamfests, there were really great prices as well as ridiculously overpriced items. Regardless, it’s fun to shop around and find treasures and junque for every hamshack.
