| The Johnson Space Center Amateur Radio Club is a "general purpose," ARRL-affilited amateur radio club with a focus on amateur radio operations in space. The sixty-two members are like most other club's members: they range from the very active to the not so active. JSCARC members are technicians, engineers, business admin types, managers, scientists, doctors, teachers, astronauts, etc. |
There are two official and one unofficial category of JSCARC membership: Regular Membership Federal employee assigned to JSC; Employed by a JSC contractor, is NASA-badged and is on a NASA-JSC contract in the Houston area; Was previously a Regular member and who is now either retired from or not currently employed by NASA or a contractor. Associate Membership Any person who does not qualify as a Regular member and who appllies for and is then elected to associate membership by a majority of the voting members present at a regularly scheduled meeting. Honorary Membership Honorary membership, conveying no voting privileges or guarantee of access to the club station, is also available to those kind folks who, because of their distance from JSCARC, wish support the club through their dues. Their dues, a one-time assessment, help the club continue to operate and maintain the club equipment and facilities. In recognition of their support, honorary members receive a 4" cloth club patch (see the logo at the top of the page) and an Honorary Membership certificate. Honorary members visiting the Houston area are more than welcome to contact any of the club officers to arrange a visit to our club station, W5RRR. Dues Annual dues of $15 are due on or before September 30, each year.
