The Johnson Space Center (JSC) maintains an Emergency Operations Center (EOC).   The purpose of the EOC is to provide a centralized area of operations for the management and disposition of emergencies that may occur at the 600-acre, 102-building, Johnson Space Center, near Houston, Texas.  The EOC is home to the JSC Security Dispatcher's console, staffed 24-hours-a-day.  One area of the EOC, the Emergency Management Room, contains a conference room-type table, television monitors fed by cameras around the JSC and by commercial and government television services.  The Spaceflight Meterorology Office also has a console in the room to provide weather information.

The console consists of the HF station: Ten-Tec Paragon II HF Transceiver, Ten-Tec Hercules II HF Linear Amplifier (500 Watts output), a 23' Marine vertical antenna with and SGC-140 remote antenna tuner, a Kantronics KAM+ Terminal Node Controller (TNC), and a Luke S-100 12VDC, 120-Amp power supply.  The VHF/UHF station consists of: Two Kenwood TM-733A 2m/70cm FM Transceivers, a 2m/70cm Vertical antenna, a Kantronics TNC (2400/9600baud) and associated power supplies.
